slow, safe space

"The somatic sessions have been wonderful for me. I was really open to discovering what would unfold. The slow, safe space was very good for me. I was surprised by the ease with which thoughts and reflections rose up, while I was in the space … it was a good reminder to create time for quiet. 

I wasn't sure how it would be to have someone hold/touch parts of my body in this context, but it was very light and gentle and by being really present to the moment I really did discover the ways in which my body wished to move (or not). It felt as though there was another part of me getting the opportunity to speak. I found the options for drawing/sand/writing very useful as this again often brought up thoughts/feelings I was unaware of, or may not have known otherwise. Sometimes it just helped clarify or focus something I was aware of. Many, many thanks."
